  • Upgrading Max Versions

With how Max 2022 seems to have altered where some plugins go, does anyone have any good tips on migrating your profile to newer Max versions? Is there a script or tool around that would help copy as much as possible?

I don't think there is such a tool but you can check these article out for future updates. https://cganimator.com/how-to-manage...e-integration/ https://cganimator.com/3dsmax-2023-p...ntegration-v2/

Have you been able to get this to work? I tried following along, but by setting that up it looks to be doing something that doesn't allow me to get my Vray license.

I have been looking into this as well, but this is way too complex and not user friendly at all.

It sounds like 2023 has solved some of the issues as you can point to a specific version to launch out of. But the write ups, while excellent, do require a bit more technical knowledge than I current have.

I did some work on this over the weekend and was able to get it to work. Part 1 is the one that I really only needed to follow: https://cganimator.com/how-to-manage...e-integration/

Following along exactly what was written, I was able to get the soulburn scripts to execute in Max 2022 in a network location. The section to really follow along with is the "Let's Put all the pieces together..." It's also important to call the max startup script "startup.ms". If I tried any other name, even if it included startup, it didn't feel like it was launching things correctly.
