We are looking for someone specializing in modeling/rendering and presentation work. This would be freelance on-site work, with possibilities of becoming a full-time position. Local off-site candidates will be considered if they can be available for project and clients meetings. If you are not local, keep in mind we cannot assist you in relocation or sponsorship, but the work HAS to be done locally. So if you have a US work permit AND you can relocate on your own we could talk.
All the work we do is industrial design and digital user interface design. Take a look at our website, it will give you a sense of what we do. Currently we are working with an exceptional and enviable client list doing projects for the home entertainment, consumer electronics, computer and automotive industries. This is all hard surfacing work for product design concepts (no characters, game art, spaceships or aliens).
Skills you must have:
- Ability to produce photorealistic images from a modeling, texturing and rendering standpoint
- Creating concept models capturing design intent in SubD models in
3DSMax (working from sketches, annotations and other instructions).
- Create vector and bitmap artwork for texturing
- Texturing models and creating detail materials for rendering
- Produce static and animated photorealistic renderings (We use Vray but if you master something else it's fine, until we help you transition)
- Create documents for color and materials explorations combining render
passes and photoshop effects
- Work with programmers to help creation of custom tools that support
best workflow for projects
- Be willing to learn new processes, software packages and automation
task as needed.
Skills also desirable:
- Photo-editing 2d images for texturing, background plates, or quickly
visualize design changes without re-modeling them (but faking it instead)
- Document visually progress of work to clients
- Create animations of products in use, or user interface graphics
- Maxscript
- Rhino3D Nurbs modeling
- Experience in presentation and compositing tools like After Effects or Flash
How to Apply:
Send portfolio samples showing you've got what we are looking for along with your resume to jobs@gustavofontana.com
