Well, when it comes to chrome or metal, its pretty simple.

    You need:

    1) A grey diffuse color
    2) Reflections set to about 75% grey
    3) A little bit of glossiness in the reflections (.9 or so)
    4) A good environment for reflections and/or lighting

          Alternatively, try this chrome setting:

          1) Diffuse black
          2) Reflection HSV value 0,0,245
          3) Fresnel "off"
          4) IOR 2.97

make sure you use an HDR for reflections
          Needs more cowbell
