  • Photoshop. 'Place linked' with RGB multimattes.

I'm in the habit of using the 'placed linked' feature for all of my render passes in Photoshop, so any revised renders simply load back into Photoshop after overwriting the superseded batch of passes.

I may be missing something glaringly obvious here but I can't seem to figure out how to do this with Photoshop masks. I'd like to save out my RGB multimattes and 'place link' them into Photoshop too, and somehow get Photoshop to retreive RG or B to mask. Photoshop would then adjust any masked folder/adjustment layers etc automatically whenever the multimattes image files were updated

I've come across RGB as masks in other programs, just wondering if anyone has implemented such workflow in Photoshop?
