  • Keeping the un-denoised render element.

Can someone please explain how to do this? I feel like i'm doing something stupid. I've hit this in the past and never bothered trying to use the denoiser in production but it would be useful again now.

If I set it to only generate render elements, I don't get the rgb pass denoised at all.
If I set it to hide denoiser results channel, It denoises both the rgb and the effects result, and if I set it to show denoiser results channel... it also denoises both the RGB and the effects result.

How on earth do I keep the undenoised version of the render as a channel while using this?

If you set it to only elements then that is for when you are planning to use the denoiser tool afterwards, when outputting vrimg/exr, if that helps.
It's then maybe useful to add 3 denoisers, one set to each of the available methods, to see what works best for the scenario.

      Yeah, it's a proper mess.
I think what you are looking for is:
Lens Effects vfb layer > create effectsResult off
      Denoiser vfb layer > Opacity = 0

      edit:
this gives you RGB color with noise and effectsResult denoised
