what are limitation of demo version?

i'm testing demo version on max 6
i see it is watermarked, no problem

but looks like all the settings of the renderer totaly go away eatch i save my scene??

is it normal, is it a limitation?
or is it a bug from my computer?

and are there other "surprises" limitations?

would be cool if there was an indermediate version licence, still watermarked, limited one year, and less price,

i'd like tu buy the student licence, but its too mutch for me for now i don't know if i will be able tu control this SPLENDID
plugin...


even tutos are hard to do without saves...
anyhow, im very surprised of what can do this 2mo plugin...

still i must choose between, brazil, final render, mental ray...but look like Vray suit to what i dream lol

i have tried them all, rather extensivly, except for mental ray which i have only tried briefly, and vray is miles ahead of everyone else.

perhaps final render stage2 will compete better but stage 1 isnt even close imo :P

and the price for what your getting cant be beat. basically if you buy now you get all upgrades up untill 1.5 for free then after 1.5 you need to buy an upgrade liscence. with your liscence you have 1 floating work liscence so you can work from any terminal on your network...but only 1 terminal at a time. its only 1 work liscence. then you get 10 DR node liscences which means you get 10 computers working on a single image. then you also get unlimited amount of network rendering nodes using normal max network rendering......although please note that windows has its own limitation there which i dont know how to get around unless you run something like windows data server or something like that hehehe.

yup v ray is a bargain, its faster, and its better quality and more robust than any of the other renderers.

i only wish i tried it first!

hey. i actually bought fR. back when they had their. pre-shipping bargain. this was before stage-0 was released. i heard the hype so i purchased it. then i started as one of vrays beta testers from close to day 1 with vray and have loved it since. i installed stage-0 once then during a reformat never bothered to reinstall it ever again. wonder why hehehe.

thanks for info, i have quickly tried final render and mental ray, its true, they are not same level, no doubt

just in my opinon the trial version is totally useless, the settings are all reseted almost every 2 minutes, its impossible for me to read slow ect and do a tuto

most prolly i will try to buy the educationanl licence cause im student, but its not ship at all for me to test this renderer

and quickly seen, but loks free version is almost useless, not any recent tutos use save fonctions

it would be realy better for poeple like me to be able to test more
do a BIG watermark, but stop reseting settings all time, personally conclusion is i can't test it

looks like there is another limitation, in "system" tab they is a preset save option, but looks like even if all is selected, only "image sampler" tab are changed when you load old presets...

is it normal or it comes from my computer??

its another part of the settings limitations. its a demo, not a full version. they are not going to give everything away for free. being able to save your settings under the settings tab is the same as being able to save the settings when you click save in max. so naturally its disabled.

It was not disabled when I was using the demo some time ago. Try the presets in your full version, it doesn't work like it should. Some settings are saved, some are not.
