  • Static reflection

Hello, I have a scene with a lot of small gold balls in an animation. Is it possible to set the reflection statically in a material so that it is not calculated dynamically in an animation and thus avoid flickering?

The reflection depends on the view angle so it can not be static. You can use a fake environment reflection, this will create a reflection of a selected environment giving the illusion of dynamic highlights, will not reflect the balls though.
You should also try to render your scene and optimize the setup, like reducing the reflection depth to the bare minimum, avoiding strong highlights, and applying the denoiser using the standalone, this will help blending between frames and will give you decent render time and a smooth result.

Thanks for the answer. I'll try that with the fake background. Reducing the depth of reflection did help, thanks for the tip. It's a shame that you can't work in an animation with just one reflection map
