    I am having trouble getting an even noise map on my object. I applied a uvw map, and the noise scale varies depending on which face of the object it is on, even if the faces are coplanar. Any ideas on how to get an even distribution of the map.

    I'm starting to think that this is a problem with max 7.5 and vray? I have a huge area with a carpet pattern, and even though I am applying a UVW modifier to the entire carpet area, it is showing up as distorted based on where the mesh faces are on the object. Any solutions or other ideas?

      I think there was some problem like that. Look in the bug reports.

        OK, the problem was that I had a noise map with a size of .5 within another noise map. I changed it back to 1.0. Why can't max 7.5 and Vray handle this, or has this always caused problems?

          i cant see why it should be a problem. if you switch over to scanline, does it still do it?
