  • Scene needs to be rerendered with MR, how to get rid of vray

I've been assigned to re-render a scene using mental ray and scanline instead of vray, now i dont have access to vray. I'm having difficulties locating where exactly in the scene the existing vray properties are.

I've almost all the textures/mats and lights and setups, the scene renders
fine on one computer locally, but when sending to network rendering
the other computer cannot find the vray dll file and the render fails.

the error message from backburner is "ERR Error message : Missing DLL : vrender60.dlr - VrayShadow"

So in whitch part of vray is the VRayshadow property used, are there any easy way to find it and get rid of it.
This is a rather large scene with lots of objects in it (500k poly 300 objects) so i'd rather not do it manually

    any thoughts?

any answer would be highly appreaciated.

Try merging the stuff into a new scene.

It's possible some objects have vray properties set, which might be difficult to remove.

i was able to cranck down the rendertimes, so got to render the scanline render pass on my main machine, and sent the mental ray pass to the network render.

The mental ray pass is ambient occlusion only, so i gave all the objects the same material and merged the scene in. saved and no vray messages anymore

So i guess it was a material setting somewhere.
          Anyway, thanks for your time
