  • Render with ACEScg and experiment with AgX on top.

    EDIT: adding attachments
    mP_ocio_v01.zip

attached mP_VRay_ACEScg_2_AgX_matrix.zip contains frame buffer layer setup.
    render with acescg.
colour space conversion is done via Composite layer stack. consist of acescg to BT709 and 709 to "709 with AgX matrix".
on that goes Curves layer that outputs AgX KrakenLog.
on top: ocio config from Troy James Sobotka GitHub - sobotka/AgX: There Be Kraken and Dragons

    bit of a curveball.
so after spending some time playing with AgX with it's beautiful simplicity and apparent connections to the times of celluloid - I looked at ARRI's colour science. I mean, they know a thing or two about putting scene referred colour on screens, right?

raw from VRay, rendered in acescg:

I am aware this is a bit apples to oranges, just one of nearly a hundred looks from arri vs agx with aces-like contast but still - very promising.
more details sometime in the future.

          back to AgX/ACEScg

ocio config for testing added to the first post: mP_ocio_v01.zip link

gamut compression from aces 1.3 is working quite well with AgX even without aces input.

          tested with:
