Sorry if missed this in the documentation somewhere but is there a specific time period for the demo version? I've had it installed less than one week and its already expired? I seem to recall seeing somewhere that it should last for 30 or more days?

Its set to expire on a certain date, not after a time period after the installation.
So I assume it was set to expiry at the end of August. They should update the demo soon. So you will need to re-download it again.
