Problem with casting shadows despite unchecking attribute

Hi, I have attempted to remove Cast Shadows by adding the attribute and then unchecking the box on the material I have applied to a solid object but it is still casting shadows. I am wondering if this version has a bug or if there is another setting I need to change.

I have noticed this happens sometimes when I use the Light Generator within VRay? Could this be why? If so, how do I stop this?
