  • Experiencing problems with vray lights going through walls

    hello.

i really need some fresh ideas here.

My vray light doesn't seem to listen to my thoughts...

    This is a sample image:

    HINT:
The light should be casting only inside the building, and should come out only through the cutouts from the wall

    For now...i've failed....

    My settings:

In the mean while some help would be great!

    Thanks!

Well the vray lights being that size will probably be your problem.. try putting the lights inside the building.

      haha

A vray lights is an area light not a point light. so that yellow circles that you see from thwe vray light are not the fall off of the light but the actual light size itself
So what you have there is 2 huge mutha vray lights.

Make them much much smaller so that they fit inside your church, like what natty said.

              The about screen says 1.09
              Why do you ask?

This is what i managed to get from your advice.

Are you using a demo or free version?

                  i don't really know.

I found an installation kit. I ran it and the renderer installed itself without any questions asked...

I did'n get any dialogs or popups telling me to register or that it will expire.

                  Weird stuff.

PS: does "VRay Adv 1.09.03n" mean anything to you? (it's written in the renderer bar from max 6)

Well what you have there is an illegal copy of vray. And i think you know that.

I suggest you uninstall it and then download the free version or the demo version from the vray website. Otherwise you wont get any more help or support around here anymore.

                          Smart talkers...

I can't afford a v-ray license, because i'm a student (my scholarship is 30$/month). I'm interested in working with Vray. I'm fond of the product. But I'm not sure I can raise the cash in 2 years. Didn't think of that, did you?!

Any offers or bright ideas? I would like to hear them. Really!

If you know anything about discounts or student licenses, do tell.

P.S.: I must have had a wrong opinion about this forum... I guess there's no such thing as unconditional help

No your right there is no unconditional help for people who knowingly use an ilegal copy of vray ... either use the free version or the demo ..
