edit: March 2025. Chaos finally approved my refund after I posted here, assuring me I'd recieve in in 4-7 business days. It has been 2 months and I still don't have my refund.
Hi everyone, heres the problem:
I’ve been a vray user for many years, but did not renew my subscription when it expired in October as I was not working at the time.
I started a new project recently and so paid my subscription on January 5th, after paying I reenabled “auto renew”. This purchase was made on my “sign in with google” chaos account, however I realized immediately afterwards that for whatever reason my google account license and Trimble account cannot sync despite it being the same email, contact, payment method etc etc. I was desperate to start work that afternoon, and so I purchased the subscription on my Trimble account and issued a refund request from my google account.
chaos responded to my request with an AI generated response saying I do not qualify for a refund as I had auto renew enabled (despite the fact that I had not had it enabled at time of purchase and had not paid anything until January 5, well within the 14 day period. )
Even though this is silly, FINE, so I submitted a ticket to refund the Trimble account charge instead (which had never had auto renew and was a brand new purchase)
they merged my tickets and have yet to respond to me.
All I want is a single subscription. It is obvious that I have a double charge for the same software from the same email and card. I am well within the 14 day period for a refund for one of these licenses. I don’t care which one, but right now this company is holding 1000 dollars hostage and denying / delaying my requests.
after years of subscribing, if I have no resolution, i will dispute both charges with my bank and blacklist chaos and move on to new software, but this is my final attempt to hold chaos accountable.
