  • Anima All Daily/Monthly Limit

    Hi,

I recently subscribed to Anima All on a monthly plan and noticed it comes with daily and monthly download limits.
I'm considering switching to an annual subscription and was wondering if these same limits apply to the annual plan?

    Thanks for your help!
    Best,
    Herb

    Hello hartherb_jj

Thank you for sending us your question on this subject.

...noticed it comes with daily and monthly download limits.
Actually, there is no fixed number of downloads for a subscription. Instead, we use a variety of methods to monitor and manage the download bandwidth available on our servers. In some cases, depending on the use that a particular account is making of the available bandwidth, we are forced to place time limits on its download capabilities in order to protect the quality of service for the rest of the users.

This monitoring process is also intended to educate people on how to use free access to our extensive library in a sustainable way. Remember that with Anima you can download and position a model with a simple drag-and-drop gesture, so there is no need to download the entire library to use it later. Therefore, downloading all the actors to your computer is not necessary and is not recommended for two reasons:
    1. The drag-and-drop workflow with automatic downloads is designed to let users focus on the design process and forget about asset management. With a subscription, the user always has access to all the models in the library, so the local hard drive becomes a file cache instead of a resource repository. What's more, any models used in the project that have not yet been downloaded are automatically downloaded and installed the next time the project is opened, either on the same machine or on a different one. Therefore, the ability to continue working in a project is no longer tied to having previously downloaded the models and saved them in a location where you have permanent access to them. As long as you have access to the Internet, you are good to go.
    2. We must provide good service to all our customers. Downloading an uncontrolled high number of models would generate an unsustainable bandwidth of traffic per user, which would cause serious problems for our infrastructure and consequently affect the proper use of the service by our other customers.
So the idea is to download only the models that you really need for each particular scene that you may be working on. We understand that our users may be used to downloading everything and keeping all assets on a local hard drive, but our existing product catalog is too large for that to be practical for most users. Instead, the right thing to do is to download and use only the models you need, which will also benefit your storage usage and overall efficiency. This should allow you to work without any noticeable limitations.

I'm considering switching to an annual subscription and was wondering if these same limits apply to the annual plan?
The monitoring and limitations on the download bandwith are not related to the subscription plan purchased. It is a core part of the service applied to all subscriptions.

We hope this clarifies everything, but please do not hesitate to contact us again if you have any further questions.
