  • Problems with vraysky

Hi I have the demo version of vray on my vista home premium machine using max 2008. When I open max up I have no vraysun button (the vraylight button is there), if I open up a file that previously used vraysun I get a missing dll message, the dll in question is vraysky90.dlt. I can see the vraysky dll on my hard drive so I don't know what the problem is, can anyone help me?

    Thanks
    Mick

You can check your plugin.ini file in the root folder of 3ds Max to see if the additional V-Ray plugins are there, and that they come after the normal ones.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Hi Vlado,
Thanks for the reply. The plugins.ini file does point to the correct plugins folder and the vraysky.dlt file is there. Any idea what could cause 3d studio not to pick this up?

      Thanks
      Mick

try uninstalling the demo and be sure there is no trace of it on your hard drive. Then re-install it and see what happens?
        Kind Regards,

I can manually load the plugins and they work fine, I just can't understand why they won't load automatically.
