  • Vray Proxy crash

    I use Vray through work (1.5 Sp1 on Max 2008 32 bit).

I've had problems exporting vrmeshes (onyx trees; dosch cars etc) and noticed that this was fixed by converting all materials to vray materials.

Might be worth noting - vray sp1 doesn't like exporting vrmeshes with non-vray materials (like raytrace)

    OK thanks.

There is an issue rendering VRayProxy objects with a Raytrace material applied to them; this is a known issue, but it looks like it is not possible to fix this easily.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

I'm not familiar with the limitations of the free version of VRay, but you should avoid using non-VRay materials at all costs! They're a little slower, bounce light incorrectly, and can cause general mischief.
