  • Car Paint from image-based measurements

to vlado, being a programer you might like this...it looks amazing....Vray is implementing a Car paint shader right?, in the works I believe....

Yep, we did that. It worked well, but eventually people chose not to use it - you could get very close to the measured result using traditional techniques (e.g. VRayBlendMtl material with different coats) that rendered faster and allowed more artistic control. The measured material, while quite correct, was a little slower, did not offer much means for artists to modify it, and the results were not that much better really.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Vlado the roadshow that ran over europe sounded great to me - I'd consider myself a high level operator but the stuff that dd and mackevision pull off is another level higher again - on the likes of car commercials and so on do you reckon there's be a possibility of doing a dvd of the roadshow in conjunction with those guys? similar to the autodesk master class series?

that would be a good reason to come crash Da_Elf's flat.

I'd be curious about some of the presentations or info also.
