    I've got a mudbox model exported to an obj with 24,444,928 faces. I'm using ply2vrmesh to convert this to a vrmesh. When it gets to "saving voxel" it seems to crash.

    This is with and without -smoothNormals

    any ideas?

    For .obj files, ply2vrmesh will try to read the entire file at once in memory (in contrast to .ply files which will be read in chunks). This means you have to use the 64-bit version of ply2vrmesh and have enough RAM for the conversion.

      gotcha, I'll try doing it in two passes by exporting half the mesh at a time.
