  • Vray for Truespace Plz Help!

    Ok guys! here go again..

As many of you may know, Caligari was owned by Microsoft, and after a year they discontinued Vray for Truespace and now Truespace itself..

Why im here? Cos Caligari left a HUGE bug on Vray and it is that we CAN'T render glass properly..

In fact, the Glass material emits light if the GI is enabled.. Quite awful right?

I "met" vlado on the Caligari Beta forum (username Prodigy) few months ago, and chaos group solved few important bugs, but this the problem with glass sadly was not solved completely and still present.

So here i am, begging for the good will of Chaos group to see if they can help us cos we still working with vray but limited to work with solid materials.

I know there's a lot of more important things for chaos group, and i fully understand, just i want to know if there is a single photon of light to fix that very bad bug that is killing the work of many many truespace vray users..

I still in contact with Caligari developers for anything you need..

So please, im asking for 1 single help, nothing else, no other fixes, and no rush!! But we need render glass and you guys are our only last chance

here is an example showing the bug..

Thanks for understand and thanks for evaluate the possibility.

Even if we found the problem, the code must be recompiled by Caligari/Microsoft, since the V-Ray plugin connection is developed by them, not by us.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Maybe a stupid and/or ignorant suggestion: although not a final/satisfactory solution, isn't there a possiblity to exclude glass objects from emitting GI to the scene ?

It will have to wait until after Siggraph, I'm afraid as I don't have any spare time until then.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

                Seems perfect Vlado,
Best of lucks and happy release!!

See the full potential of Vray for other companies make me feel a bit of envy for them

Keep in touch! and again thanks..

No we don't have such option.. i wish to have it but there's no option to exclude objects from Gi calc..

Hi musikdoktor, why is that bug so important for your community??
There's any other way to make realistic glass?
