  • VRay crashing Maya 2009 Vista 64

    hi everyone.

    i'm trying out the demo version of VRay for Maya 2009 running on Vista 64. when i attempt to create a Vray Mtl node i receive a "Fatal Error" message from maya followed by a crash.

    can anyone shed some light on this? future thanks.

    Hm, works fine for me here, as far as I can tell. Do you get V-Ray to render all (e.g. with a Maya Lambert shader)?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      nope. when i load it through the the plugin manager i receive the following errors :
      Code:
      // Error: Could not read V-Ray environment variable "VRAY_FOR_MAYA2009_MAIN_x64". Please re-install.
       //
      // Initializing V-Ray for Maya

      // Error: Could not read V-Ray environment variable "VRAY_FOR_MAYA2009_MAIN_x64". Please re-install.
       //
      // Error: Could not read V-Ray environment variable "VRAY_FOR_MAYA2009_MAIN_x64". Please re-install.
       //
      // Error: Could not read V-Ray environment variable "VRAY_FOR_MAYA2009_MAIN_x64". Please re-install.
       //
      // Error:  //
      // Error: Cannot find file "./scripts/AEvrayEdgesTemplate.mel" for source statement. //
      // Warning: waitCursor stack empty //
      the VRay shaders appear in the hypershade, but VRay is not an option for render.

        Oh, that. Have you tried logging out and then logging into your account? Sometimes the change for the environment variables made by the installer is not propagated through the system.

        Best regards,
        Vlado
