  • Light cache, backburner problem

Hi, I've been doing some renders with light cache as the secondary bounces, and have lined up 4 cameras as batch rendering on my local machine. However the renders come out a lot darker than my individual test renders.

I can't work out what the problem is since the paths should all be the same as when I do individual renders within max. Not sure whether it's the gamma or the light cache that is not working properly.

Can anyone help me out here?

Also I can't seem to be able to post to any of the other forums, says my access is restricted can I get help with that too please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are the light cache files being saved to a location that all render nodes can see (Ie on a network shared drive)?

Yeah, the vrlmaps are on a shared drive, however at the moment that's not the issue as the only node i'm using is my local machine, there are no other machines being used.

I've just done some experimenting and have found out that if I send the render jobs to backburner one at a time then it renders as expected so it seems that the problem lies with 3ds max native batch render.

your major problem is that in order to send a file to backburner max must save the file. vray's demo resets all the settings when you save so unless this is your 1 and only problem you better contact chaos group and get permission for full forum access to get help for your problem as a fully licensed and registered user
