Hello, Does Vray have plans to create a walkthrough render such as Quest3d? If so, when can I expect it to be ready. I would like to start using Vray but only if I can create walkthroughs for my clients.
Thanks, Rachel
Thought I'd give this a bump. Even if RT isn't completely usable on most client's systems, it would be great if at least we could bake textures in and send them a sample export (Flash, .exe, etc.) that they could navigate around in. I wouldn't even go so far as to even ask for animated objects.
Actually we have ways to create a standalone executable based on V-Ray RT GPU that displays a given scene in walk-through mode. If we bake the GI and the direct illumination it can give quite a good render speed (or optionally it can still use path tracing)... is this something you would be interested in?
You didn't fully read the original post: "Does Vray have plans to create a walkthrough render such as Quest3d?"
Whats the point? if everything is fully baked all the viewer needs to do is display a model and texture. You can export this in 20 seconds if it's already set up in max.
An exportable Vray RT file would set a new standard and only get better over time.
You would just need to define the scene movement limits and collision boxes. Preferably of course with default gravity and an average walk speed. I wouldn't even worry about physics or object movements in the scene - while nice, that only makes things more complex.
