We've made some modifications to how licenses are acquired for swatch rendering in tomorrow's build. Can you try the 2010-04-09 build and see if it makes any difference ?

    Greetings,

I appreciate your help so much Vladimir & Vlado, thank you.

It is 8.45pm here at the moment and the dongle is at work but I will try the new build first thing in the morning tomorrow - thanks again.

      Cheers.

        Thank you!

Using the build from the 10th and it is lightning fast now! This is great!

        Thank you Vladimir and Vlado...

Very old thread to revive but I can't find a recent mention of this issue.
I'm having it now - Maya 2018 Vray 5. Threadripper 3990x, RTX 3090, 256gb RAM, everything else appears to be stable.
The only problem I'm having is this extremely slow Hypershade swatch loading. It happens in every vray scene I load, simple or complex. My larger scenes (with imported speedtree shaders for example) can take 30mins for hypershade to finish rendering the swatches. Everything else is lightning fast.
I've never noticed this issue in previous versions.
Some kind of licensing loop is the only thing I can think might be causing it....

I've had the same problem recently.... It took me some time to figure out, but after stopping the license server and starting it again all went fine.

Thanks for confirming, Waz. I can't seem to fix it, though. Stopped/started licence server. Uninstalled and re-installed to 5.5.4.
Could you walk through stopping and restarting, make sure I'm not being stupid about something...
Could it be geographic location?! I've always worked in the UK but more recently spending a lot of time in France, might be upsetting the licencing somehow.

Also recently switched from Intel to AMD which has cropped up a couple of other issues, but this doesn't feel like that.
I'm not a big Max user but I pop in there for assets from time to time and I've not noticed any problems in the material editor.
