anyone know what the status is on the fluid support for light shadows is in nightly builds? I just try on my own to test render a 3D fluid cloud using a directional light . looks like some features are there but If I try to enable shadows for the fluid it doesn't seem supported, but maybe im not doing it right?
Ok then, can any of you send me a scene for this to vlado@chaosgroup.com? As I said, it works fine in my (simple) tests, but there may be something else going on...
Aside from the crashes, which I can't reproduce yet, things seem to work fine. In this case the direct illumination is almost completely hidden by the incandescence of the volume, but it is there.
In comparison to the Maya software renderer, the direct illumination on the volume when rendered with V-Ray is twice as low. This is not a bug (although it may be useful to add an option to simulate the Maya result). You can use GI to get a more realistic result.
