  • Light Mesh and Antialising?

    Hi,

i use the VRAY Demo for Maya 2010 and think about it to buy the full version, cause i love the speed of rendering, quality and easy usability to get a nice result instead of overheaded MR.
But i have a big problem with the great feature MeshtoLight.

It works easy as it should be, but my edges of the LightMesh-Geometry are always not antialised, and that looks crap. I tried to push up the AA Sampling Rate, and so on, but didnt find the button where i can handle it.

So i need to use that LighttoMesh Feature, cause its easy and what i wanted long time in MR i need to know if i can get a clean result of it.

    thx

The result that V-Ray gives you is actually correct (because the light is so bright). In any case, you will get better antialiasing if you turn on the "Clamp output" and "Sub-pixel mapping" options in the "Color mapping" section. You can adjust the "Clamp level" depending on how much HDR information (if any) you want in the resulting image.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
