  • Ideal method for rendering fly-through with Camera Animation

    Hey guys,

I am so sorry for spamming this forum with so many questions. Switching things from Maya Mental Ray workflows to Maya Vray. I have many questions and this is one of them.

In Mental Ray, final gather, I learnt that I could save the FG pass map to prevent/reduce flickering in fly-through animation. Similar to architecture renders especially with trees. I'd like to know what is the ideal method?

I've been testing and rendered such images like

What is the ideal methods for architecture? From what I read it is "adaptive subdivision" for image sampler and "Irradiance Map" for primary bounces which has been saved out and for secondary, I used brute force. Current preset animation - high. And yet it still flickers. any help?

Okay guys. Thanks for the help anyway. I got some help from cgtalk and achieved the flicker free result I was looking for with IM+LC. I just did it wrong initially by trying to cache both at the same time.

Yep, I saw the thread on CGTalk too; good to know it is solved now. BTW, you can also email support questions to support@chaosgroup.com

      Best regards,
