    Hi, I have a question - is there any way V-Ray can render something similar to the sketch below:



    So far I'm getting nothing:

    Yes, it would be best to use photon-mapped caustics. It works much better with a direct light, rather than a VRayLight. Make sure the light beam is narrow enough and slightly pointed towards the ground, so that the photons hit it eventually. I have some examples, will post them when I get to the office on Monday.
