  • Maya command line camera problem

Hi, I'm currently using VRay 1.5 to render a scene in Maya 2011 via the command line .bat file. I'm having a few issues getting the .bat file to render multiple cameras, it only renders the camera that's selected in the Maya file. For example:

    1. I select camera1 in the VRay render settings in Maya. The file has 4 cameras. The Maya file is saved and closed
    2. In the .bat file I list all 4 cameras to render eg: -cam camera 1 and on another line -cam camera2 etc

When I execute the .bat file it seems to find the cameras ok but actually only renders camera1 4 times. The workaround at the moment is to save out the Maya scene 4 times with a different camera selected in each but it would save a heap of time if I could sort this out. Thanking you in advance.

Hey I had a smililar problem in the studio - I spent all laborday weekend trying to figure out what the **** was going on. I had set my renderable camera in my scene, containing about 6 render layers. I cued the renders on our farm and it would sit there slowly trying to render but eventually freeze and not give any errors. What I ended up doing was to NOT have any cameras in the scene set to renderable. THat seemed to fix the problem. I camera name I specified in my render manager instead, but just run your .bat file again and see if that works.
