Hi Ivaylo!
This is a new one, different scale, mapping and so on. For sure, I've used the delivered sample scenes to get a better understanding how PhoenxFD actually works. The scripting solution in the sample scene is not the point I wanted to start with; too complicated at this moment
I'm not really satisfied with the result at this point, because a candle light flame lits with some other colors like a blueish tinting from the bottom to a yellow/orange color at the top. Not to forget the small brown part on top of the wick.
All the way, PhoenixFD performs great in 3ds max and working with it is easier than I first expected, even though this is the Demo Version.
best regards,
toby

the blue color on the bottom side of the candle flame can't be simulated, it should be added in artificial way, for example using modulation of the emissive texture.
btw - when the source is a small geometry, this can produce anisotropy in the flame, and i suppose you case is like this. you can try to exclude the wick from the simulation, this will change automatically the source in inject mode and the anisotropy will decrease or disappear. this is the reason why i made the candle with scripted source, the sources didn't have inject mode when this example was made.Last edited by Ivaylo Katev; 28-10-2010, 03:58 AM.______________________________________________
