  • Mayabatch commands

Ok, so I have a predicament.

Here's the breakdown of my problem. We use Rush as our render management tool. It's currently set up to submit files to our farm, translate them and then run them in Vray Standalone, however we can't get it to use DR in conjuction with Rush.

However if I set the farm nodes up in my scene and then Batch render them in Maya locally, it pulls up one StandAlone lic and then uses all our StandAlone DR lics. But when we try to add in the StandAlone commands into our rush submit script they ALL come back as unrecognized commands. Is there a special set of commands for batch rendering versus the Stand Alone Command Prompt? How do we use DR rendering with a farm management tool?

Ideally you would submit the job to just one machine, and run the V-Ray render server on the rest of the machines. The machine that runs the DR job can specify the distributed rendering flag and list all the other render nodes to be used for rendering. If your render farm manager supports it, you can also get a list of machines to use for DR from it (possibly taking in consideration whether they are rendering something else).
