  • Bidirectional path tracing in Vray 2.0?

    Optimizations
    [...]
    • Better representation of V-Ray lights in the new hardware viewport for 3ds Max 2010 and later;
    Support for bidirectional path tracing for accurate unbiased lighting solutions;

    Uhm, it's what people read in front page of Vray 2.0. So by "bidirectional path tracing", what do you (ChaosG) mean in any practical term?

    Is there any new setting in GUI related/connected to that thing or it just natively integrated into render engine and work under lightcache ppt mode or any other GI engine or different conception?

    I find keyword in Vray 2.0 official manual and see nothing.
    Code:
    http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/200R1/
    Can anyone explain me about this unbiased solution within Vray 2.0? Basically does it make any accuracy more than previous one in vray 2.0 and how/where to turn it on to render a test and/or understand about its existance/nonexistance in GUI? Thanks for your time.

    You can see this thread here for some more info: http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...0-VRayBPTracer

    You can find it in the Create panel > Helpers > V-Ray > VRayBPTracer

    Best regards,

      Thanks about link and suggestion. BTW, as I expected, regular user doesn't have permission to access attached images in that thread. But I think it's tme to test myself to get example images.
