  • Vray Material question

    Hi,

I am new to Vray and have a question regarding Vray Material and the rendering in general. I created a test scene with several primitive objects, some of which are bland white, some have reflective surfaces. I used a gradient black for background and really dark tile reflective floor. As you can see in the rendering, the white appears grey. Is there anyway to make the dark background and floor so that it doesnt affect the color of the object. I want white appears as true white in the rendering. Please advice!

You can place a vray override material on your floor material -
click on where it says Vray Material in the top right of your material
    select VRayOverrideMtl
keep old material as sub material
    click on GI
create a new vray material that is a basic white (no reflect etc needed, just the diffuse colour)
try rendering and you should notice a big difference.

I personally think it's more realistic the way you've done it above though as that's how it would look in reality.
