I've looped the "anim. index" so I got a quite nice flame, BUT I faced another problem! Everything was okay until I placed my flame in front of my sea surface! There is V-ray material of water, and when the simulator is in front of water it displays its' gizmo. So if I turn reflect color of my sea material into black, then heat haze looks fine, but water doesn't.

Here is my scene. Have a look at it plz!

    THANKS!

That's okay. Fixing a bugs is the part of development. Notify me when you cope with it.

well, looks like the reason for this behavior is the reflection/refraction limit of the shading. the propagation of the ray through the heathaze looks for vray as refraction and the shading of the water starts with preliminary reached refraction limit. try to put both the limits to very big value, let say 1000.

Thanks! Should I tweak Max depth for my water material or I should set it in the global switches?

you have to tweak the material, the max transp levels in the global switches affects only the alpha transparency, not the refractive one.

I set Max depth to 1000 for the reflection and refraction of my water material, the haze looks fine at last! THANK YOU!

And the last stupid question! (^_^) I noticed that haze looks normally from 150 of this value. Should I better keep 1000?

the value should be bigger than the total steps, that is approximately the grid size divided by the step of advancing. if 150 i enough, do it with 150, however if you increase the sim resolution the problem can appear again
