  • Refraction reflection and stereo issues

    Hi there,

I am doing stereoscopic 3d animation using 3Ds max for last 1-2 years. Started with some scripts like render tool stereo grapher and now a day using vray 2.0 to get better and better results.

But through out this experience i always had issues when ever i use refraction in materials. As all we know refraction and reflection are camera dependent and so with Left and Right cameras at different position, the effect of refraction and reflection in both render is different and that creates eye stress. I am here to find a proper solution so that i can use refraction and reflection in my animation, because without using these properties it is hard to get realistic results, even after using plugins like vray.

but surely, this is the correct effect? if you look at a refractive or reflective object in real life, your two eyes see from slightly different positions, giving slightly different reflections and refractions.. this is how it should be.

Yeah, light is traveling into each of your pupils. Your brain is just smart .
