I work on Mac OSX 10.6.6 with Maya 2011.5, distribute and use thecomputer to render Win764bit, I have two questions:

1. Is there any way to disable the machine where I work with to distributethe calculation of the rendering?
2. There is an alternative method to manage the backburner to renderqueue?

No, but you can set it to use just one rendering thread from the System tab of the renderer settings.

2. There is an alternative method to manage the backburner to renderqueue?

I'm not sure I quite understand this; there are many other render queue management softwares (Deadline, Rush etc).
