  • Would LOVE to have this with Phoenix!

    Hi all

So Allan Mckay just released his latest training series. 13 hours of raw in your face FumeFX training. http://www.fumefxtraining.com/

I would LOVE it if somebody made something like that for Phoenix. I would buy it together with Phoenix without even blinking.
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

Yep, we are working on some video tutorials.

However keep in mind that FumeFX has been around for much longer, so there is a wealth of information and examples readily available, with the respective workflows already figured out. This is something that won't happen overnight for Phoenix, no matter how good it may be.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Yes I know.

ChaosGroup has the best software, and support. But as far learning the software goes, that is one area where ChaosGroup is seriously lacking. Good to know however that you are working on Tutorials.
      Kind Regards,
      Morne

Have you looked at the sample scene files? Perhaps you can modify one of them for your needs.

pouring water from a bottle to a glas is a relatively hard task, if the bottle is moving. the best way to init the content of a bottle is to use a geometry in brush mode. however, after the initialization, the liquid will start а transition process and eventually will settle. of course you can start the movement of the bottle skipping the transition process, i think this would be better. the animation of the bottle should be organized wery carefully, the movement should be slow enough or the spf value should be forced to high value, otherwise the content will pass through the walls due the "teleportation" of the bottle.
of course the whole task will be much easier if the bottle is static and the liquid is created somewhere inside it but outside the viewing frustrum.
