  • materials library

Just wanted to say that the forum was a great idea for this phase, and that your quick response to questions has been quite a pleasent surprise. With that in mind, will there be a materials library that ships with the final product? Not to say that many things are hard to create, but I do live in the real world and we often need to crank things out (the furniture world is pretty fast paced beieve it or not), so wasting time with making materials isn't always possible.

ASGvis could really take advantage of this forum system and allow an ASGvis curated online style database of materials created by yourselves, me, and anyone else on the forum. Maybe a materials wiki of sorts.

    Dear Guest,

Yes there are plans to create a material library for V-Ray for Rhino. A portion of the material library will be distributed in the next beta release. The online database is something we have considered.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Best regards,

hello, I would ask if there is the possibility to translate materials I've done in vray for max to vray for rhino, or if I copy all parameters of the material it should be the same in rhino.

currently there is no way to do this, but we may write a simple maxscript to export a material file in our format. Its definately a good idea.
