... Vray for Rhino dosn't have a library like you know from Flamingo. You can create, edit or browse your materials per rhino material properties page. Also, some materials are installed in the Vray for rhino plugin directory. You can load the materials, if you create a new one and per right mouse button at the material name, you can import/export materials.

      Thnx Micha

I saw a 'Materials' folder inside Rhino3.0/Plug-ins/'VRayForRhino' directory. how do i load the materials?

The Rhino's Plug-in Manager under 'Tools' requires a .rhp file format which does not exist, except for VRayForRhino renderer plug-in which has been loaded.

There's no rhinoscript .rvb file neither to load script for the Vray materials.

I also tried the object material properties. Under the Material sub-menu, when i check 'plug-in', can't seem to able to browse for the Vray's 'Materials' folder to load.

So where else might I be able to bring in the materials .vismat to apply to the objects?

I also realized i don't have the VrayMtl function... or i don't see it in the main Render Option menu when i load Vray in Rhino.

... if you edit a material, right mouse button click on the material name - export and import options.

          vraymtl

Hey many thanks for your help... I find that I only get rhino basic materials... I cannot find a vraymtl shader which I can import.

Hence I cannot get a vray advance shader ... only rhino basic materials. When I right-click and try to load a shader from the library, error "unable to read file" appears

has it got to do with my settings?
