  • RC2 Crashing when using the material editor

I've just downloaded RC2. Every time I use the material editor it crashes. There is no preview shown.

I had to enter my credit card details a second time to download RC2. I don't want to be duped into buying 2 copies. And as per the beta agreement, my understanding is that my card won't be charged until I am happy to purchase the final version.

I'd like clarification here please, as I am concerned about the lack of information and notification. I would have thought notice via would be given as to what is happening.

    Thank you

I believe Corey has sent you an email explaining what happened with your downloading problems. Rest assurred you won't be charged for anything once, let alone twice, if you don't want our product.

As far as the material editor goes - normally we would post these types of messages under our Bugs forum, but I'm guessing you probably don't see those forums yet (Corey's email should help you straighten that out as well ).

Anyway, could you describe when the material editor crashes occur? Does it happen as soon as you open the material editor or when you update the preview? I believe there is a bug where users hit the "Update Preview" button without a material selected. Then any future "Update Preview" clicks wil cause an infinte loop. Its fixed in our latest internal builds - but I'm pretty sure that was still an issue in RC2. Let me know if this was the problem you were suffering from - and if it isn't please give me a bit more information so I can track it down. Thanks

      thanks for the info.
Yes it is relating to the update preview button. What you say makes sense.
