I am trying to insert a background into a model which i'm rendering from the inside. The idea is to have the image of a street scape which will be seen from a particular opening. I am having problems with the scaling part of the image. Can anyone tell me the best way of going around this problem?

    Thanks

I'm not sure I understand you right, but I recommend to set a background plane per "pictureframe" command. This command help to get the right aspect ratio. After you have set the image plane you can fine adjust the placement and size in rhino display mode "rendered preview".
If the placement is good, create an emitter material with the background photo texture and assign it to the plane.

Micha I have tried what you're saying but i need light coming in from the outside and the plane is blocking it. Is there anyway of have both the image and the transparency?

You want to render a room with a "view" outside? If yes, than place the picture plane 100 m away and scale it. So the light from outside come in and you see the plane.
