  • Bump map looking very large

I model a chair in my scene and i found a leather looking bump map from internet.
I know to use the bump map from material menu. When i take my render, the bump map looks very huge on my chair. As i guess, normally the bump map should look may be % 10 percent of the size. Sometimes i face the same problem with texture maps. How to use the bump and texture maps smaller on the objects ? If is it possible with 'mapping' , where can i find a complete tutorial about mapping from the beginning. Thank you very much

Do you mean the actual bump effect looks to be coming out too much? Perhaps changing the multiplier for your bump map is all you need to do? Try making it smaller?

The bump look is dependent from the scene scale. If your chair has a size of 10 units (it dosn't matter mm/m/km) than a very low multiplier should be used like 0.05. But if your chair has a size of 1000 units, than you must use a very high value like 100 or more.
