  • material white semi-gloss

I am using vray for SU beta 4. I am trying to create a white semi-gloss paint and in the preview window it appears correct. When I render an iamge the white takes on a gray color. I do not know if it is how I have the white paint material setup or if the render environment is "casting" a gray tint on it. Any clues to solve is appreciated.

maybe you could send me a test scene with this issue? It could be many things from geometry to lighting to a bug. Thanks

If its between 2-8 meg you can just email it to me. Otherwise you can put it on ftp://ftp.asgvis.com/incoming and just let me know which file it is via email or private message.

Joe emailed me your scene and I took a look at it. The issue is that you have the physical camera enabled, which is fine, but the settings are basically under exposing the image (making it darker). The physical camera works like a camera in the real world, in that you have to adjust the exposure for the amount of light in your scene. If you don't want to keep using the physical camera, disable it in the camera rollout of the options settings, and decrease the sun intensity to something like .002-3. You can continue to use the physical camera if you'd like, but you will have to adjust the exposure. In your case you want to brighten your image, so either decrease the F-stop, decrease the ShutterSpeed, or increase the ISO value. We'll have a tutorial up in the coming week or two that explains the physical camera and the Vray sun more explicitly so keep your eye out for that. Your white material is fine, so don't worry about that. Hope this helps.
