I agree that some shiny chrome would help to lift your render. In fact if you sneek across and have a look at the recent kitchen render in the Rhino Forum you will see what a difference it will make.
To get a ready made chrome material, open your material editor, select 'import new material' and you should see a series of folders marked, glass, concrete, metal etc.. If you go into the metal folder, then select 'chrome_shiny'.
You will find however that as it is chrome it will only 'sparkle' if it has something bright to reflect such as a light source or something bright in the scene.
      Anyway, try it out.
You started the thread asking about making your scene 'sharper' and I wondered if you meant more 'contrasty', because that is the only thing I could see that it required. You seem to have fixed that with your second posting. Personally I would go for more concentrated pools of light to add a bit more drama to the space, but thats just me.

For me the lighting is too flat. You can see from the shadows cast that there are a number of small non-directional light sources, probably point lights.
My suggestion would be to cut down the number of lights and make them smaller and rectangular. That should give you some nice soft shadows but also more contrast in the scene, and hopefully more sparkle on the chrome. (are the draw handles chrome?)
Maybe put some lights under the wall cupboards.
Plan B is to use an image for the refection in the chrome, which I think is what Fluke did with his 'violin and trumpet'. I think that you add the image to the reflection layer of the chrome.
