  • how many frames ? really needing help, thanks

Hi, now im working in a project(appartment), and i have to make a fly-through(8 mins) animation (whith bongo).

The only problem that i have is time, so, i need good render times and QUALITY, what configuration should i use, and how many frames per sec? how can i optimize this render times? ( i have 15 rendering days for achieving this goal). ( using many textures and lights )

im using IR and LC settings

    thanks for the advices.

    Hi Juan

I've been always told that you should use a min of 25 frames per second. That's alot of renderings over 8mins!! - good luck

      It's a question of time:
      8min x 60s = 480s
      480s x 25 images = 12000 images
      480s x 15 images = 7200 images

      12000 images with 1 min rendertime = 200 hours = ~ 8.5 days full render time

You should think on, that you could get problems with wrong scene setups and bugs, so you need more time to fix it or work around. Also postwork need time. If it is your first big Rhino animation, than I would try to keep it so small as possible and I would use 15 frames per second.

      7200 images with 1 min rendertime = 120 hours = ~ 5 days full render time

I suppose so, the rendertime of an interior could be longer than one minute.

thnks so much for the answers.

i've tried, but bongo crashes after 85 frames , also the rendertime grows from 1 min ( first frame) to 20 or 30(60 - 80 frames), so i guess im using bad configuration

irradiance map (default)- light cache (default settings exept for the multiplier (0.)- both settings are checked whith the add to current map option - image sampler adaptive QMC defult, but with 30 subdivs

maybe i've got to experiment a lot first. GRACIAS

sorry for the late answer my pc was rendering jejeje
