  • Sketch-up Realistic Rendering

    Im quite new in Rendering. May I ask what plug-in should I have beside vray for me to come-up with a "realistic 3d rendering" for Sketch-up? Please help becuase im really decided to learn on how to render. And any suggestion on how to start? (tutorials, basic rendering pattern?)

    Please please please help.

    by the way how come vray is not listed on those plugins. as an su user this sketchup site will always be the first place to know these pluggins.

      Yea why is vray not listed on the sketch-up website?
      Do you have any idea on Rhino photorealistc rendering also? I mean beside having a plug-in of vray what rendering plug-ins will I have to learn to come up with a photo realistic rendering?

        rhino? no idea really. i have experience with max and viz but too complicated for me so i moved to sketchup. from then on i just using su. as for rhino, perhaps many people has idea.

          As far as photo realism goes, thats something thats going to be through the render engine itself. The only real determining factor in regards to the modeler is the geometry that can be created. In that respect, the capabilities of the final render become an expression of the realism of the model. In other words, a highly detailed model will have more capabilities the achieve a photo real result then a model with very few details. Once you've got your model, the rest is whatever you want it to be. Some really great "photo realistic" renders were actually complete tricks and ones that have been setup in a completely "photo realistic" way have come out like crap. The point is that you have to find the way to make things work for you and how you make things look good.

            But is the gallery section of Sketchup are all rendered solely by sketchup and vray alone?

              Yes - the stuff in our VfS gallery is rendered from V-Ray for SketchUp
