Guys sorry for asking but, is anyone here using Vray4Rhino for interior presentation?
I mean, when I look at the gallery there a just few archviz stuff, everthing is more or less mechanical, jewllery....
I want to see how this version does interiors! Queality, speed...
Also do you finaly get to use Sun/sky parametars for inlluminating interior scenes...

    Re: Interior AchViz

    Hi,
I'm planning to use it for ArchVis of interiors and exteriors, still evaluating it, but I think it will be my tool in future. There are some things that I'm missing but I hope it will be appended in future releases.

Here you can see link to one image I done with it, realy nothing special, done in couple of hours, used Sun/Sky system, physical cam, some materials converted, rendered in 35min (DualCore), only for testing purposes.

I'm doing some exteriors, like Evermotion houses model edition, as I finished it I'm gona post one image on gallery, with some small tutorial if anyone is interested.

We have allot of people do interiors with Vray for Rhino. They may not end up on the forum as much as other industries (fewer freelancers and most architects rarely do their own visualization work), but Vray for Rhino is certainly used for doing interior renderings. A few things that you should remember about interiors is that you will need to take more care with the lighting. That doesn't necessarily mean that the lighting has to be tedious or complicated, as I've done plenty of interior shots with only the sunlight or the sun and just a handful of lights, it just means that you've got to pay a bit more attention to it. Also the render times may not be as super speedy as on exterior or product shot, simply because of the amount of geometry, added materials, and usually more reliance on primary and secondary bounces for the lighting.

I used Vray for interior renderings often - interior architecture and aircraft design. I'm very happy. It's not super fast, but much faster than unbiased rendering and I suppose so, Vray bring the best possible speed. Often I use arealight at the windows and some additional lights at the room. In the last time I used the sky system too. Rendertimes are at screen resolution (1 Mega Pixel) are ~20min at Q6600@3GHz, if I use many blury reflections/refractions it need more time.
The sky produce a nice lighting with color gradient at the walls, but some times, the sun is a problem. The high intesity of the sun reflections can cause very bad artefacts. I wish, this problem could get full attention. One solution could be, that the sun affect speculars only and no reflections, so we could get no blurry intereflections (that cause strong artefacts), because speculars/highlights are not interreflected. An other solution could be to limit the intereflection count of the sun only.

I use the secondary engine LC and primary engine IM.

It's a general render calculation problem and so it's not a bug. It's full physical correct way, but not the best for daily workflow. You can see the strong noise effect here:

and here is the sky whishlist thread with this topic:

I suppose so, it's overseen by to much trouble of the last weeks. Maybe it's a good time to bring it back.

Has this "SUN cousing artifact in reflections" problem been fixed?
