  • Sunlight being recognised as a directional light - please help!

Hello. Thank you in adavnce for any suggestions! i dont know if anyone else has come across this problem. i have rhino 3.0 with vray. when i input a sunlight and go to the properties dialogue box - it doenst give me any options for turbicity etc. therefore it is not being recognised as a sun i imagine.

yoour time to reply would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks

      Hmm okay...two issues here.

The first one of the sunlight command not adding all of the sunlight features to the directional light is something that I can repeat here. I'm not sure why that is, although my main guess would be that v3 wouldn't support having more than 1 differnt ui option for a single light (ie directional lights have the standard UI and the sunUI). I will try and ask Joe to see if he knows the specifics

The second one that now v-ray isn't working. Before I make any assumptions, can you post the link that you are referring to and explain exactly what you did. If it involves a newer version of RDK, then there's whats going on, but I want to make sure exactly what you did.

Many thanks for your reply dalomar! so - do you mean that rhino v3 may not support the 'proper' sunlight?

re. point 2: the link is http://download.mcneel.com/download_rel.asp.

i have just got the latest service release in hope this was the problem. now when i run rdk installer it advises that there is no rhino program installed.

yourhelp through Joe would be valued. again - thanks for your time in replying dalomar ;D
