Does anybody have a clue as to why this 3d tree is rendering like this? It's a skp model that I downloaded from FormFonts...Do I need to make some adjustments for it to render well?

    Appreciate the help thanks

      Re: 3d tree

Clip mapping, transparency mapping, alpha mapping... much has been said about it on the forum, so I suggest I search. I'll clarify from there if you need it.

        Re: 3d tree

I did have a look in the forum. Basically I need to learn how to do an alpha image in Photoshop and use the original JPG with the modified "transparent" image in Vray right? Something like this? I will have another look ...

        Thanks

          Re: 3d tree

Kinda, but not really that complicated...export the image file from the SU material and open that in photoshop. It should be a png, so you should see the checker background. Make an alpha map out of that where the area where the leaves are is black and the other areas are white. Save that and make sure that you have the original map as well.

Make a linked material from the leaves material. On another diffuse layer (above or below...it doesn't matter) add the original map to the diffuse and the alpha map to the alpha part. Right before you render go back to the SU material and change it to completely transparent. Then it should work. If you want to see the trees when you get back to the viewport, just remember to adjust the transparency back to opaque.

                    Re: 3d tree

                    hi i have the solution.
                    1. U choose one of the plane, right click choose vraylink material.
                    2. U must make the other same image like in Diffuse map choose "m" in transparency ,choose bitmap. but the image should ( the leaf is black colour and the background is white colour)
                    3. Just render ...

                    Hope its work...i already try..

                    Regards,
                    Nick

                          Re: 3d tree

RightClick on the material and there should be the option to export the texture image (material must be In Model). After that you can bring it into photoshop, fill in the background with white, and fill the original image in with black. Save as a copy.
