  • Not really a Vray question... .U3D

    Hi

Does someone know how to export a .u3D -file from rhino + Vray. I would like to attach an interactive 3D-model in a Adobe PDF document, as a complement to the rest of the presentation of my project.

As far as i can see, there is no option for exporting files with this extension, and this is the only accepted 3D-file to bring into Acrobat. The same for PSD.

Maybe there is a way to go around this? Someone that have been into this already?

I know this is not a rhino question... :-[

You can export-import your 3D models from Rhino to Acrobat 3D per screenshot - yes, it's true. Maybe you find more infos at the rhino forum or you test it by yourself.

Ah, ok! But unfortunatelly I just have the ordinary Acrobat 8, not Acrobat 3D. And acrobat supports only .u3d files...

      Thanks for your comment.

I'd ask on the Rhino Newsgroup...its a great place for Rhino specific info, and I'm sure that someone there would have some suggestions

You could get a trial version of acrobat 3D and use it for your presentation.
I did just that for my B.Sc degree project

The trial of Acrobat 3D works really fine, hav eto learn a bit more, but it seems to be very simple and useful for presentation. I guess we´ll introduce this in the office later on... And yes Micha, it really works with print screen from Rhino, cool!
